Looking for a foods that accelerate your metabolism and make you burn more fat? Sorry to disappoint you but not many foods has the effect you’re probably searching for. But the great news is that all foods will assist you to quicken your metabolism, some more than others.

Metabolism always rises with the intake of food. It’s how you eat, when you eat and what you eat that plays a important part in how it affects your metabolism. For instance, carbohydrates are absorbed quicker by the body than proteins and fats. Foods that contain a lot of fat on the other hand tends to be dense in calories and the body more readily turns them into stored fat.

Becoming dehydrated by consuming to small an amount of water and your body will begin to conserve energy and slow down it’s metabolism. Drinking iced water can also burn a few additional calories by having to warm up the liquids before it’s absorbed by your body.

Caffeine can also boost your metabolism, it’s found in coffee, soft drinks, energy drinks etc. Research have shown that coffee also has some strong antioxident qualities, however consuming to much coffee may cause some unwanted side effects.

And lastly when searching for foods that quicken your metabolism give green tea a try. The taste is rather grassy and the taste may take some getting used to, but you can try adding some honey or other flavorings may help. It’s not really a food, but research have shown that 3-5 cups a day will raise your metabolism and helps weight loss. And research have shown that it has some great health benefits as well.
